About Dead Nettle Creek

Born to Keep the Old Ways Alive

Nestled in the rolling hills of Dunmor, Kentucky, Dead Nettle Creek is more than a farm — it's a way of life. We're a family-owned homestead rooted in the belief that the old ways are worth keeping, that the land provides what we need, and that what we put on our bodies matters just as much as what we put in them.

Our Story

Life on our farm at 971 Forgy Mill Rd. is never quiet. Between the rabbits, bees, chickens, goats, hogs, cattle and a sprawling garden bursting with herbs and fruit trees, there's always something growing, something tending, something becoming. We wouldn't have it any other way.

We are Keira and Daniel Elitzer, plus our kids, owners of Dead Nettle Creek. We started Dead Nettle Creek out of a deep desire to live intentionally — to grow our own food, raise our own animals, and craft products we could trust completely. What began as a personal commitment to clean, natural living has grown into something we're proud to share with our community and beyond.

From Our Farm to Your Hands

Every product we make starts right here on our land. We grow our own herbs, tend our bees, and care for our goats — and that farm-to-product process is at the heart of everything we create. You'll find no herbicides, no pesticides, and no harmful chemicals anywhere on our property or in our products. Just honest ingredients, time-honored methods, and a whole lot of heart.

Our handcrafted offerings include:

  • Herbal tinctures — made from herbs we grow and harvest ourselves
  • Salves & balms — soothing, natural, and chemical-free
  • Insect repellent — effective without the harsh chemicals
  • Goat milk soaps — rich, creamy, and made with milk from our own herd
  • Hand-poured candles — warm light, natural ingredients
  • Pelts & woodworking items — crafted with care and respect for the materials

Our Philosophy

We believe in transparency, simplicity, and respect — for the land, for the animals, and for the people who use our products. We don't cut corners. We don't use shortcuts. We do things the way they were meant to be done: slowly, carefully, and with intention.

If you want to see the farm in action — the goats, the bees, the garden in full bloom — come visit us on facebook.com/deadnettlecreek or TikTok! We love sharing the everyday rhythms of homestead life.

Find Us at the Market

From May through October, you can find us at the Muhlenberg County Farmers Market. Come say hello, smell the soaps, and take a little piece of the farm home with you. We love meeting the folks who share our values and appreciate the craft behind every product.

Thank You for Being Here

Whether you found us at the market, through a friend, or stumbled upon us online — we're glad you're here. Every purchase supports a real family, a real farm, and a real commitment to keeping the old ways alive.
